An Intervention. follows one young woman's struggle with alcoholism and the effects of her addiction on the people who love her. Blue Hill playwright Patrick Harris weaves an abstract, non-linear narrative out of memories and events which may be real or only imagined, revealing a portrait of sickness that conveys not only the shame, frustration, and guilt surrounding addiction but also the profound deflection, disorientation, and cognitive dissonance that make addiction so difficult to confront.
